Roof Trusses - Day 1

Found a great builder to help us put up the trusses. Ian Gowing of Jellat Jellat was a great bloke to work with. He worked well with Frank on site, which I could only assume would be hard for any builder, but also did not mind me and Greg laboring for him. A good tip for keeping costs down too. The first day went smooth, as you can see from the photos.

  1. Hi Steve & Mel,
Its taking shape and looking fantastic... Marnee & I know that you've been busy, but we've been checking your blog every other day for progress reports and photos.
We saw a few days of rain in there since the walls went up, and hope that everything was wrapped up, and stayed nice and dry.
We learnt a lot from yourselves, Frank, and the other folks, that we will be able to incorporate into our own grand plans.
I'd like to thank you both for letting us be apart of what was a great experience. Meeting you and all the other keen strawbalers, was just what we needed to help set our own direction and we hope to be making our move sooner than later.
    Cheers, Ben and Marnee.

  2. Yup, progress seems to be going smoothly there. It's nice to see the roof in that state. It's a work in progress ready to take shape soon.

It's a time consuming task, but making sure that the trusses are in place is important, no?
